Just hours after working the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards, Paris Hilton has posed for what must be the most glamorous mugshot in history.

The police photograph shows Hilton with a full face of make-up and hair still in place from earlier that night.

The 26-year-old heiress checked into the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California, just after 11:30 p.m on Sunday after attending the A-list event in Hollywood.
